Firearm & Ammunition Sales Policy

Hammer Outdoor Sports sells firearms, ammunition, and custom firearms in full compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws.

To Purchase Firearms Online:

• You must be 18 or older to purchase long guns and 21 or older to purchase handguns.

• Confirm the product is legal in your state, county, or city before ordering.

• After placing your order, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your order number.
  If you don’t receive an email within two business days, contact us at 330-593-9000.

• Choose a local FFL dealer (gun shop, pawn shop, or range) to receive the transfer.

• If your selected FFL is not already on file, ask them to send a copy of their license to:

• Contact your FFL to let them know a firearm is being transferred from Hammer Outdoor Sports.

• Once the firearm arrives at your FFL, you must complete your background check and paperwork in person.

Important:
Inspect your firearm before completing the transfer. Once the transfer is complete, the manufacturer’s warranty takes effect and all issues must be handled directly with the manufacturer.

Firearm Restrictions by State:

Please confirm local and state laws before placing an order. We do not ship firearms where prohibited.

• California: Handguns must be on the state-approved list. Assault weapons must be CA compliant.

• Connecticut: No semi-automatic rifles.

• Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey: Sales only to Class 01 FFL Dealers. Assault weapon restrictions apply.

• New York (State): No assault weapons.

• New York City: No handguns.

• Washington D.C.: No firearms allowed.

Ammunition Sales Policy:

• You must be 18+ for shotgun ammo and 21+ for rifle or handgun ammo.

• All ammunition is shipped via UPS Ground or Air (HazMat fees apply for air shipments).

• No international sales.

• Ammunition and firearms must be ordered separately.

• For safety reasons, ammunition cannot be returned.

• Orders over $100 shipped to residential addresses will require an adult signature (additional fees apply).

Ammunition Restrictions by Location:

• Illinois: FOID and State ID required.

• Connecticut: AEC or Pistol Permit and State ID required.

• Chicago, Cook County (IL): No ammo without FFL.

• Los Angeles, Oakland, San Francisco, Sacramento (CA): No ammo without FFL.

• Massachusetts, New York City, Washington D.C.: No ammo allowed.

• PO Boxes, APO/FPO: No ammo shipments.

Air Gun & Blackpowder Firearm Restrictions:

We do not ship air guns or blackpowder firearms to the following states:

• Hawaii

• Illinois

• Massachusetts

• Michigan

• New Jersey

• New York

Magazine Capacity Restrictions:

We comply with magazine limits as required by state law:

• 10-round limit: California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York

• 15-round limit: Colorado, Illinois, New Jersey

Note: Firearms and ammunition must be purchased in separate orders.
Buyers are responsible for complying with all applicable laws. Orders that cannot be fulfilled due to legal restrictions will be canceled and refunded, minus any applicable fees.
